As we have crossed one of the difficult years in the history of industrialisation and entered 2021 with a lot of hopes and inspiration, AlCircle think tank came up with a conclusive preview report “Global Aluminium Industry Outlook 2021”.
The preview report elaborates the future of the global aluminium industry in 2021 and ahead. The primary focus of the report is to touch upon the significant developments of this ongoing year vertical wise, in a bid to analyse how every vertical influence each other’s growth or counter-growth.
The global aluminium usage is estimated to have declined by 4.1% to 84.5 million tonnes in 2020, while the rest of the world is still reeling under the impact of the pandemic. However, China has managed to strengthen up it's economy and aluminium usage, which is estimated to have expanded although marginally.
AlCircle forecasts the demand for aluminium to rise briskly at around 7.5% during 2021 riding on the back of a high growth rate in China and a bounce back in other major markets across the world.
In 2021, the demand for the metal is predicted to go beyond the 90 million marks, with developments in global mobility and the release of pent-up demand as the year progresses. During the second and third quarters of the year, powerful revival in demand is foreseen, with a substantive assumption that near normalcy will gradually be achieved in most parts of the world by the second to the third quarter of 2021. In 2020, China accounted for nearly 50% of the global aluminium demand and a marginal increase in this percentage is forecast for 2021.
The aluminium industry which witnessed healthy growth during the recent decade decelerated during 2019 and witnessed negative growth during 2020; however, the outlook of the aluminium industry remains positive in the immediate future.
