Japan Kobesteel aims to grab China automotive aluminum sheet market share

Kobesteel’s automotive aluminum sheet factory in Tianjin is under construction and scheduled to start production early next year, CNMN reported.
The factory, with total investment at 389 million yuan ($63 million), will produce 100,000 tonnes of automotive aluminum sheet annually.
Sinosteel is proud to claim 50% of market share in Japan’s automotive aluminum sheet market. China’s automobile production hit 23.72 million units in 2014, more than twice of that in Japan. The new factory in China represents Kobesteel’s ambition to grab market share in China and optimism over the automotive aluminum sheet market.
