Italy firm wins major Oman deal

Dubai: Oman Aluminium Rolling Company has awarded a $385 million (Dh1,413 million) contract to an Italian company to build a production plant with a 160,000 tonne capacity.
Fata EPC, a Turin-based engineering, procurement and construction company, is expecting production at the aluminium rolling plant to start August 2013. Construction at its peak will create to about 1,200 jobs in the local economy. At full production, the plant will generate 275 direct jobs.
Fata EPC, a division of Finmeccanica, is now focusing on the GCC.
