Iran's annual aluminium production to rise 60% Y-o-Y

Iran’s aluminium production capacity is expected to reach 775,000 tonnes in the current Iranian calendar year (ends on March 19^th). The figure clearly states 60% more than the previous year.

As per the reports of the country’s national development plan for the mining sector and based on the industry, Mining and Trade Ministry’s four-year development program, the country’s aluminium ingot production is expected to reach 629,000 tonnes by the end of the current Iranian calendar year. This is 244,000 tonnes more than the previous year’s total production.

The aluminium production capacity of Iran reached 422,000 tonnes as the Iranian calendar year ended on 20^th March’18, whereas the production recorded at 337,000 tonnes.

As, the last which ended on 20^th March’19, the country’s alumina powder production inclined by 9,000 tonnes to 229,000 tonnes. The aluminium ingots production rose to 48,000 tonnes compared to the previous year to reach 385,000 tonnes.

The major aluminium producers of Iran produced 221,223 tonnes of aluminium ingots during the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2019-January 20, 2020), a 17% de-growth than the figure for the previous year’s same time phase.

IRALCO, the country’s largest producer of Aluminium, has been accounted with 53% of the total production in the last year.

Iran being the world’s 18^th producer of aluminium, it plans to achieve the annual production the aluminium ingot to 1.5 million tonnes by the Iranian calendar year March 2025-March 2026.
