India’s import of aluminium plates sheets and strips to increase slightly in 2017

<p>India has a great potential of producing downstream aluminium products due to aluminium companies with their downstream operations. The top producer of aluminium downstream products in India includes Hindalco Industries, Jindal Aluminium and many more.</p> <p>{newsStudioGallery}</p> <p>Currently, Indian government is considering taking measures on imposing anti-dumping duties or minimum import price to combat rising imports of downstream aluminium products in India. In 2016, the country imported 128135 tonnes. The figure decreased with USD350.74 million in 2016. The country&rsquo;s total value is estimated to be around USD 368.35 million in 2017.</p> <p>China is the top exporter of aluminium plates, sheets, strips to India. The country exported around 66390 tonnes of this product to India followed by UK with 11169 tonnes.</p>
