Hyundai has released the first teaser images of the next-generation i20 for the Brazilian market, giving an early look at the hatchback’s updated design.

The biggest changes appear at the front and rear. The new i20 will feature connected LED daytime running lights at the front and a full-width LED light bar at the rear. The teaser also shows dual-pod LED headlamps with Y-shaped lighting elements and a redesigned grille that is no longer integrated with the headlight units.

A brushed aluminium Hyundai badge has been placed on the bonnet, while the rear gets new C-shaped LED taillights connected by a light bar running across the tailgate.

The new model is also expected to be slightly larger than the current i20.

Hyundai has not revealed the interior yet, but spy images suggest the hatchback could get a curved dual-screen setup similar to the Venue. Reports also point to a new steering wheel and additional technology features.

The company may also introduce advanced driver assistance features and a 360-degree camera system with the upgrade.

Under the hood, Hyundai is expected to retain the existing engine lineup, including the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine offered in several markets.

At the same time, the automaker is working on a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that could offer more power and torque than the current 1.0-litre turbo unit. Hyundai has not confirmed whether this engine will be available in the next-generation i20.

The fourth-generation hatchback is expected to make its global debut around the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Hyundai is one of the tournament's major sponsors.

In India, the current i20 is priced between INR 600,000 (USD 6,300) and INR 1.039 million (USD 10,910). The N-Line version is priced between INR 927,000 (USD 9,730) and INR 1.159 million (USD 12,170).
