Hydro’s aluminium extrusion plant in Slovakia has been against the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s Performance Standard. This recognizes the responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. The certification includes all the site’s operations, including its extensive fabrication activities.
{alcircleadd}“I’m happy to see our hard work lead to this successful ASI certification process. It brings us a step forward in our sustainability agenda, and it supports our customer demands for aluminium products that are sourced and produced responsibly,” said Viktor Fára, managing director of Hydro Extrusion Slovakia.
The extrusion plant manufactures around 16,000 tonnes per year from its two presses. The facility offers multiple fabrication and surface treatment capabilities in the electrical engineering, building and construction, and transportation industries.
“This is exciting for our Slovakian team and for our organization as a whole. Doing business the right way is what our company is about,” said executive vice president Egil Hogna, who leads Hydro’s Extruded Solutions business area.
Hydro’s Extruded Solutions supplies tailored aluminium components and solutions to automotive and mass transportation to building and construction, electronics, offshore and maritime.
As of October 2020, 56 of Hydro's sites around the world have been cetified against ASI's Performance Standard.
