
Hindalco Industries Limited has cut its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices for the third time in a row since the year 2023 began. With effect from Saturday, January 7, Hindalco has trimmed its aluminium wire rod price by INR 1,500 per tonne from INR 226,600 per tonne to INR 225,100 per tonne.

Hindalco’s aluminium billets price has also seen a cut by the same amount to come in at INR 228,100 per tonne versus INR 229,600 per tonne as of January 5. The company’s aluminium ingot price stands at INR 214,000 per tonne, with effect from January 7, down by INR 1,500 per tonne from INR 215,500 per tonne on January 5.
Hindalco links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which slipped by US$27.50 per tonne from US$2,270 per tonne to US$2,242.50 per tonne.
Aluminium operations of the company, excluding those of its US arm Novelis Inc., generally account for nearly half of its total sales and 70% of its operating profit.
