
Indian aluminium giants, including Hindalco Industries Ltd, Vedanta Ltd, and National Aluminium Corporation (NALCO), have reportedly reduced their aluminium prices in response to the LME aluminium price fall this week from October 30 to November 3. The LME aluminium benchmark price encountered a downfall of US$32.50 per tonne or 1.44 per cent from US$2,252 per tonne to US$2,219.50 per tonne during the said period.

Hindalco Industries Limited cut its aluminium ingot price by INR 3,000 per tonne this week from INR 221,750 per tonne on Tuesday, October 31, to INR 218,750 per tonne on Friday, November 3. The price saw this cut in two days. On November 1, the company’s aluminium ingot price underwent a cut of INR 1,500 per tonne, standing at INR 220,250 per tonne. Then, on November 3, the price experienced another cut of INR 1,500 per tonne to reach INR 218,750 per tonne.
Similarly, Hindalco reduced its aluminium wire rod price and aluminium billet price by INR 3,000 per tonne from INR 233,750 per tonne to INR 230,750 per tonne and from INR 235,850 per tonne to INR 232,850 per tonne, respectively.
Vedanta Limited also reduced its aluminium prices by INR 3,000 per tonne through this week. On Wednesday, November 1, Vedanta cut its aluminium ingot price by INR 1,500 per tonne from INR 219,000-239,000 per tonne to INR 217,500-237,500 per tonne, and further reduced it to INR 216,000-236,000 per tonne on November 3.
Vedanta’s aluminium billet price closed the week on Friday, November 3, at INR 225,000 per tonne after seeing a fall of INR 3,000 per tonne from INR 228,000 per tonne on October 31. Aluminium wire rod price settled at INR 224,500-232,000 per tonne on November 3 versus INR 227,500-235,000 per tonne on October 31.
NALCO revised its aluminium ingot price this week to INR 216,750-220,250 per tonne as of November 1. The company’s aluminium wire rod price stood at INR 222,750-227,100 per tonne, while the aluminium billet price ranged between INR 221,200-223,850 per tonne.
