
Hindalco Industries Limited raised its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices on Wednesday, December 8, following a cut on the previous day, December 7. The company’s aluminium ingot price saw a rise of INR 2,250 per tonne from INR 229,500 per tonne to INR 231,750 per tonne, as of December 8.

Hindalco’s aluminium wire rod price came in at INR 242,850 per tonne on December 8 after being raised by INR 2,250 per tonne as well from 240,600 per tonne on December 7. Aluminium billets price increased from INR 243,600 per tonne to INR 245,850 per tonne, also up by INR 2,250 per tonne.
Hindalco links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month future of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which on December 7 increased by US$24.50 per tonne to US$2,625 per tonne. On a month-on-month calculation, the price stood up by nearly US$94.50 per tonne from US$2,530.50 per tonne.
Aluminium operations of the company, excluding those of its US arm Novelis Inc., generally account for nearly half of its total sales and 70% of its operating profit.
