Government expects bauxite mining in Arkalyk to be completed by 2021

It is planned to complete the extraction of bauxite in the city of Arkalyk by 2021.
"In this connection it is necessary to carry out a set of measures and activities to identify prospective mineral deposits in the region",said Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Sauranbayev.
According to his words the company towns with medium and low development potential, such as Zheskazgan, Abay, Zyryanovsk, Lissakovsk, Shahtinsk, Zhetikara, Ridder and Arkalyk have the below mentioned problems.
"First of all, it is the depletion of raw materials which consequence is the incomplete utilization of the core enterprises, loss ratio, limiting the duration of the companies' activities as well as a significant deterioration of the content of minerals in mined ore, and remoteness from outlet areas which often affects the profitability of enterprises in these company towns", concluded Sauranbayev.
As previously reported by Serik Akhmetov, one-company towns' population nowadays reaches more than 1.5 million people.
