Aluminium as a metal is gaining popularity in almost all verticals. Be it transport, packaging, or even art form, the metal and its sustainable attributes are not going unnoticed. To begin with, FireDrone, a prototype model coated with aluminium, was jointly developed by researchers from the Imperial College London and Empa. Volvo reduced the total carbon footprint of the Volvo EX30 to less than 30 tonnes by addressing emissions across the vehicle's complete manufacturing and lifespan. The company aims to lower total CO2 emissions per vehicle by 40 per cent between 2018 and 2025; a 25 per cent reduction compared to its fully electric C40 and XC40 models. From being infinitely recyclable to corrosion-resistant, the metal has its own place of importance within the industry. Like, talking about packaging, Charles Rosier's Augustinus Bader, a well-known skincare brand, moved towards sustainability with their range of The Light Cream, which features an aluminium exterior and plastic bottle to keep the product fresh and unaffected by heat and sunlight.

By addressing emissions across the Volvo EX30's entire production and lifecycle, Volvo lowered the vehicle's overall carbon footprint, which included more than 200,000 km of driving, to under 30 tonnes. The company's goal is to reduce overall CO2 emissions per car by 40 per cent between 2018 and 2025, representing a 25 per cent reduction compared to its fully electric C40 and XC40 models.
