The company's patented Kongsberg Kamewa mixed flow Steel or Aluminium series waterjets are revered for their highly efficient market potency. These waterjets are made of high-quality aluminium or steel and utilize axial flow pump technology, which is why they come as complete units. In terms of size, the aluminium series ranges from 22 to 67 cm, and their power capacity spans from 50 to 2000 kW.

Sales Manager- Special Vessels- Americas from Kongsberg Maritime, John Huschilt, commented: "By expanding our New Orleans facility to include waterjet manufacturing and assembly, Kongsberg Maritime aims to offer US-built products directly into the market for future new-buildings, including naval and coastguard projects. This is providing our US-based customers with an opportunity to procure locally sourced, world-renowned waterjets."

"Our Kongsberg Kamewa waterjets are powering a growing number of vessels across the US in multiple segments. From combat craft protecting freedom with the US military, mass-transit ferries on the East Coast, West Coast and the Great Lakes providing safe and fast transportation, through to powering a range of workboats, we're ready to serve and support our customers," Huschilt concluded.

Kongsberg Maritime, a renowned provider of propulsion systems, has been successfully manufacturing Kamewa waterjets for over four decades and has shipped more than 10,000 units worldwide. To further enhance their commitment towards their customers in North America, the company is pleased to announce the commencement of local waterjet production in New Orleans.
