New Tesco Express in Coventry to flaunt aluminium writing and colour-matching its brand identity

A planning application submitted to the Coventry City Council mentioned that a new Tesco Express would be opening soon in Coventry, replacing a former bank which was there previously. Coventry is a city in the West Midlands, England.

The information includes ideas for the proposed store's façade as per the documents. One indicates that the Tesco Express sign would have high-quality aluminium writing and colours to match the grocery chain's identity.

"It is considered that the proposed shopfront and louvres will match the existing design of the façade, maintaining and preserving the original appearance of the building, also in keeping with the wider area in terms of its commercial context. The proposed louvres will be located along the top of the frontage and coloured to match the remainder of the shopfront, making them a minor addition to the façade. It is notable that there are examples of similar louvres in close proximity to the application site within the Hill Top Conservation Area," the application stated.

The proposal further states that considerable attention has been paid to the region's past and location in a conservation area. The city council's planners are now reviewing the minor application request, and it is expected that a final decision on whether it will be approved will be made by the end of next month.
