Edna has been selected by a Kazakhstan's manufacturing company for setting up a new aluminium facility, as announced on Monday by the city officials. The project includes a total investment of USD 15 million.
{alcircleadd}The announcement was made on May 4 at the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit held in Washington, D.C., as per the statement released by the City of Edna. City Manager Gary Boz and Victoria Economic Development Corp. Regional Partnership President Jonas Titus, who have been reported to attend the event.

Boz, in a statement, stated, "Bauner selected Edna for its strong community character and pro-business environment. This is a truly great day for our city"
As per the plan, the new aluminium facility will be located on Fannin Street, at the site of an old rice dryer.

According to the city officials, the plant in Edna shall aid in improving Bauner’s lead times and order fulfilment capabilities. Alongside this, the facility is also expected to foster collaborations with US developers and contractors, ultimately boosting the local economy.
Once the aluminium facility starts its operations, an expected 15 jobs will be created.
