East China Aluminum: More Goods Holders Sell as Bearish Sentiment Gets Strong

Traded prices of spot aluminum on July 12 in Shanghai were between RMB 17,470-17,500/mt, with premiums of positive RMB 40-70/mt over SHFE current-month aluminum prices. Low-iron aluminum was traded between RMB 17,500-17,540/mt. Traded prices of spot aluminum in Wuxi were RMB 17,470-17,500/mt. The falling of SHFE current-month aluminum prices dragged spot aluminum prices to below RMB 17,500/mt. As aluminum prices continued the falling trend, traders were actively moving their goods. However, aluminum purchasers’ interest to buy at lower prices remained low. As a result, market transactions were limited.
