As AGI Greenpac starts working on its expansion in sustainable packaging, the company appoints Mr Dushyant Kumar as Chief Operating Officer for its aluminium cans division, strengthening its leadership team to drive future growth ambitions.
{alcircleadd}Kumar has over three decades’ experience in metal packaging and beverage cans, having worked across a wide range of operational and commercial roles in his career. His previous leadership experience at Canpack India, coupled with a strong engineering background and exposure to international markets, will give him the experience to lead the company’s next phase of growth in this fast-growing category.
The appointment comes as AGI Greenpac is expanding its footprint beyond glass packaging to aluminium cans, a category that is witnessing rapid growth in India and globally. Aluminium, widely regarded as one of the most sustainable packaging materials due to its ability to be recycled repeatedly without compromising quality, is expected to play a central role in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Commenting on the development, Rajesh Khosla, Chief Executive Officer of AGI Greenpac, said the company was pleased to bring on board a leader known for operational discipline and execution excellence. He noted that Kumar’s experience would support AGI Greenpac’s efforts to establish a strong presence in the aluminium cans market as demand for sustainable packaging solutions continues to rise.

Kumar, meanwhile, described his appointment as an exciting opportunity to contribute during a transformational period for the business. He emphasised that AGI Greenpac’s established reputation in glass packaging provides a strong platform for its expansion into aluminium cans. According to him, the immediate focus will be on building a customer-focused organisation driven by innovation, operational efficiency and sustainable long-term growth.
The leadership change also coincides with progress on AGI Greenpac’s aluminium cans manufacturing project in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The company recently began construction on the new facility, which is being developed with an investment of nearly Rs 1,000 crore. Once operational, the plant is expected to produce 1.6 billion cans annually, with scope to expand capacity beyond 2 billion units to meet rising demand from India’s beverage sector.
