Ducon Infratechnologies has secured an end-to-end contract to supply and service a Forced Cooling Network system for the potlines of one of India’s largest single aluminium smelter plants. The order covers manufacturing, testing, packaging, transportation, installation, commissioning and performance proving, as well as specialised technical support during execution.
{alcircleadd}The company did not disclose the contract’s financial value, so its immediate contribution to Ducon’s revenue, margins and earnings cannot yet be assessed.
Full-scope industrial contract
Under the agreement, Ducon will manage the FCN system’s delivery across the project lifecycle, from manufacturing and testing through transport, installation and commissioning. The company will also provide technical personnel during the installation and commissioning phases.
The contract gives Ducon exposure to the operating infrastructure of an aluminium smelter rather than only to the supply of standalone equipment. Its responsibilities include proving that the installed system meets the agreed performance-guarantee parameters.
The customer and the precise location of the smelter were not disclosed in the announcement. The contract’s value and expected completion timeline were also not disclosed.

Cooling supports potline operations
An aluminium smelter’s potlines contain electrolytic reduction cells, commonly known as pots, where alumina is converted into aluminium. The process generates substantial heat, making thermal control important for maintaining stable operations.
An FCN uses ducts and nozzles to direct forced air around the pot shell. Its purpose is to remove excess heat, help control sidewall temperatures and support the protective ledge inside the cell. This can help smelters maintain process performance as operating currents increase.
The technology is therefore linked to potline stability and operating efficiency, although Ducon’s announcement does not quantify any expected production increase, energy saving or operating benefit from this particular contract.
Exposure to aluminium expansion
Ducon said the contract supports its strategy of participating in India’s aluminium-sector expansion. The company cited projections that national aluminium demand could rise to approximately 8.5 million tonnes by 2030.
Management also pointed to investment activity in Odisha, which Chairman and Managing Director Aron Govil described as India’s aluminium capital. Ducon expects this activity to create opportunities across the non-ferrous metals and thermal power sectors.
The contract may help strengthen Ducon’s industrial order pipeline, but the scale of its financial impact will depend on the undisclosed order value, execution schedule and the company’s ability to convert broader sector investment into additional contracts.

Aluminium and power pipeline
Ducon is also targeting opportunities in the power sector. The company cited expectations that approximately 33,000 MW of coal-fired thermal power capacity could be added in the coming years. New thermal units may require systems for fly-ash handling and environmental control, areas in which Ducon operates.
This creates a dual-sector growth opportunity for the company: FCN and related industrial systems for aluminium smelters and pollution-control and bulk-material-handling equipment for power projects.
However, these projections describe potential market opportunities rather than secured Ducon revenue. The company’s near-term performance will continue to depend on contract wins, order execution and the timing of capital expenditure in both sectors.
Investor implications
The announcement is strategically positive because it gives Ducon a project covering the complete supply-and-service cycle at a major aluminium facility. It also demonstrates the company’s participation in specialised smelter infrastructure rather than only in conventional equipment supply.
The absence of a disclosed contract value limits the conclusions investors can draw about earnings. Investors may next focus on the project’s completion schedule, revenue-recognition timing, profitability and whether Ducon secures further orders linked to India’s aluminium and power-capacity expansion.
