The UAE-based world’s leading manufacturer of copper and aluminium wire and cable products, Ducab, has broken ground on its new global headquarter at Jebel Ali free zone in Dubai. The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by leading Ducab officials including Chairman Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, the Vice Chairman Dr. Ahmad bin Hassan Al Shaikh, Board Member Mabkhoot Al Menhali, and Managing Director Andrew Shaw.

The new Ducab headquarter will be a three-storied building with a total built-up area of 4,053 square metres and a roof deck garden, the company revealed. The company also revealed that the headquarter is designed to be environmentally responsive and built to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) Gold Certification when completed in 2019.
The ground-breaking event was also graced by Ramboll Managing Director (Middle East and Asia) Richard Beard and Jasaf Building Technology Company Group Managing Director John E. Alford, said the company in a statement.
Besides working on its commitment to environment conservatism, Ducab will echo the area’s indigenous plant life by creating a tree plantation alongside the facility inspired by the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was an avid environmentalist, company’s statement added.
Ducab operates six manufacturing facilities across 4 sites in the UAE with all its production based within the country. It has revenues close to US$1.5 billion and employers over 1,500. The company serves customers worldwide in the fields of energy, general construction, oil and gas, renewables, industrial, defence, rail transport, marine, mining and other specialty industry verticals.
