Drip Water saves 80K aluminium bottles from waste

EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Drip Water has given a second life to more than 80,000 empty aluminium bottles from the defunct Almighty Water brand, cutting waste while meeting commitments to retail partners. When its regular can supplier fell short, Drip purchased the pre-branded bottles from Leicestershire-based Drinks Chef, then filled them and worked with Prism eLogistics to re-sleeve them in its own branding. The refreshed SKU rolled out in July across WH Smith Travel, Holland & Barrett, and Morrisons Daily.

Peel off the sleeve on Drip’s aluminium bottles and the original Almighty Water branding is revealed underneath.

Allaying any concern about the origin of the product inside the bottles, the Drip spokesman said,“At Drip, we pride ourselves on the promises we make to our customers and retailers, and would reassure everyone that the water in all of our products is and has always been entirely our water, untouched from source.”

Before distribution, Drip consulted a Trading Standards officer, who confirmed the bottled water complied with all product requirements, the spokesperson said. Almighty Water was launched in October 2024 by the now-collapsed soft drinks company Gunna Drinks, following its February 2024 opening of a £1 million aluminium bottling facility near Leicester.

Drinks Chef received the empty bottles as a goodwill arrangement to offset “lost storage revenue” after Gunna entered administration in February 2025, Managing Director Lee Jeffries confirmed. Drip Water, founded in 2023 by TV chef and musician Big Zuu (Zuhair Hassan), sells canned water in major grocers including Morrisons and Iceland. In January, the brand secured a £4 million investment from Middle Eastern conglomerate Raya Holding at a £100 million valuation.
