This week, the global aluminium downstream segment witnessed limited but strong events. To begin with, on June 29, Hindalco Industries announced that its board had approved an investment of INR 71.50 lakh in the equity share capital of Cleanwin Energy SIX. Kaiser Aluminum Warrick aims to expand its campus to house a new coat line in Newburgh. It is one of the largest makers of aluminium coated coil for the packaging market in North America. The largest integrated aluminium company in Romania and Europe, ALRO S.A., announced the installation of a brand new, cutting-edge 7" press extrusion machine at its downstream subsidiary, Vimetco Extrusion, after spending more than EUR 10 million on it. According to reports, German firms have been asked to establish manufacturing facilities and enterprises in Bahrain's 472,000 square metres Aluminium Downstream Park by Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) chairman Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa.

One of the biggest integrated aluminium companies in Romania and Europe ALRO S.A. publicized that its downstream in charge with the extrusion business subsidiary, Vimetco Extrusion, accomplished the installation of a new state-of-the-art 7" press extrusion line, following an investment of approximately EUR 10 million.
Rheinmetall, along with KPSNC, its Chinese joint venture, has bagged a new order for chassis parts destined for an electric SUV made by a new player in the mobility sector. The order value for this is expected to be around €42 million.

Vedanta Limited has expanded its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices, with effect from Tuesday, June 28, by INR I,500 per tonne or 0.65 per cent. That has brought the company’s aluminium wire rod price to INR 231,000-238,500 per tonne from INR 229,500-237,000 on June 25.

On Thursday, June 30, China's stockpile of aluminium billets closed at 106,400 tonnes, down by 5,200 tonnes W-o-W across three major consumption areas, from 111,600 tonnes on June 23. Since mid-June, there has been a decrease in the stockpile of aluminium billets, which slowed down quickly after the controversy of repeated promise.
