One of the biggest integrated aluminium companies in Romania and Europe ALRO S.A. publicized that its downstream in charge with the extrusion business subsidiary, Vimetco Extrusion, accomplished the installation of a new state-of-the-art 7" press extrusion line, following an investment of approximately EUR 10 million. The project was initiated in March 2021 and Vimetco Extrusion has just successfully tested the new equipment by extruding the 1st billets on this line.
However, this new installed automatic extrusion line for aluminium profiles is the third one for Vimetco Extrusion. The new press line sustains Vimetco Extrusion's strategy to upgrade its manufacturing capacity for high-value-added aluminium products, consequently, delivering to its customers a sizable portfolio of customized solutions

The 7" extrusion line is exceptionally methodical in terms of production capabilities and minimizing energy consumption. Hence, the whole process is automated, being apt to extrude profiles up to a length of 60 meters, with a speed of 50 meters/minute, while having the lowest guaranteed gas consumption in the market and being tooled with an efficient energy-saving system, as well as with independently operated water and air-cooling zones designed to competently allocate resources.
The brand new extrusion line will enhance Vimetco Extrusion's annual production capacity by 11,000 tonnes, attaining a total annual capacity of 35,000 tonnes by the end of 2022.
