Denso Corporation, a global automotive components manufacturer, has acknowledged its collaboration with Hydro Precision Tubing, Hydro’s aluminium extruded tubes and profiles manufacturing unit, by giving them the prestigious DENSO Award for Excellent Collaboration for Sustainability Initiatives in 2020. With the commitment to reduce CO2 emissions, DENSO has appreciated the proactive collaboration provided by the aluminum tubing team in Denmark.

Hydro Precision Tubing in Tønder, Denmark, delivered heat exchange components and systems, developed with recycled and low-carbon aluminium Hydro Reduxa and post-consumer aluminium scrap, to Denso. Produced with renewable energy, Hydro REDUXA has a maximum carbon footprint of 4.0 kg CO2 per kg aluminium produced. This is one-fourth of the global average.
Shimpei Fujisawa, who is director of EUP Purchasing for DENSO Deutschland, said: “This award certifies Hydro Tønder’s strong support and great contribution to DENSO in 2020. With this award, we want to show our appreciation for Hydro Tønder’s excellent collaboration regarding carbon-free, recycling rate and CO2 emissions topics.”
Michael Wind, sales director for Hydro Precision Tubing in Europe, commented: “Hydro has received a number of awards from DENSO over the years – including top supplier honors – but that “this one is special. This is an example of internal collaboration at its best, resulting in exceeding customer expectations.”
