Danieli bags contract for aluminium plate stretcher and cold rolling mill

Danieli, supplier of equipment and plants to the metal industry in the world, has bagged a contract from ALRO SA for the supply of a new aluminium plate stretcher and major cold rolling mill modernization. The new plate stretcher and cold rolling mill are for ALRO’s facility located Slatina, Romania.

Alro SA is the largest aluminium producers in Central and Eastern Europe excluding CIS. The company is part of the seven largest aluminium producer worldwide, Vimetco NV. The plant start-up is planned for the second quarter of 2018.

The new 18MN aluminium plate stretcher will process thin aluminium plates of alloys series 1xxx to 7xxx which is being used in aerospace, marine, defence and commercial transportation applications.

The modernization will allow company’s second cold rolling mill to enhance sheet gauge and flatness tolerances. This would also increase productivity, improve strip dryness and mill reliability.

The implementation of both the project including mechanical, fluid, automation and electrical systems as well as the complete supervision of the installation and commissioning will be done and supervised by Danieli.
