According to the recent data, the global aluminium powders, pastes, and flakes market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 5.03% during the period 2018-2022. In fact, with the advancement in technology and growth in global economy, the aluminium powder industry has evolved extensively over the past few years. So to say, the increasing investments in infrastructure are significantly driving the demand of aluminium powder and flakes. The demand and use of aluminium nanopowders is also forecast to rise on the growing adoption of nanotechnology.

The key players in the industry, including Czech Republic is expected to cash on these opportunities that abound the market during this period. The import of aluminium powder and flakes by the country is thus, estimated to grow this year. In 2017, the import volume by Czech Republic had decreased from the previous year, but in 2018, the country is likely to gain back the market.
In 2016, the import volume was at 4231 tonnes and the cost was at US$ 12 million, in contrast to which, the volume stood down at 3847 tonnes against the value of US$ 10 million in 2017. 2018 is expected to record a slight growth in volume from the last year at 3946 tonnes, with the import value remaining same as that of the previous year.
However, although the country is forecast to import a higher volume of aluminium powder and flakes in this entire calendar year, the first quarter did not display any growth compared to the corresponding periods of the two previous years. In Q1 2016, the volume imported by Czech Republic was 882 tonnes, which decreased to 788 tonnes in Q1 2017 and further to 771 tonnes in Q1 2018.
The below chart shows a comparison between the import volumes of Czech Republic's aluminium powder and flakes in first quarters and entire calendar years of 2016, 2017, and 2018.

The value of import also declined in tandem with the volume. In Q1 2016, Czech Republic’s buying cost of aluminium powder and flakes was $2.4 million, followed by $1.9 million in Q1 2017 and $ 1.8 million in Q1 2018.
