Crown Holdings Inc., a leading supplier of beverage, food, and aerosol packaging, has achieved the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification. This certification has been awarded to its regional management at the Asia Pacific Division office in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward and also for the production of two-piece aluminium beverage cans at CROWN Beverage Cans Danang Limited in Da Nang, Vietnam.
The certification, announced today by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), encompasses the facility's two can lines, producing 1.4 billion cans annually. LiberoAssurance carried out the independent, third-party audit of Crown Holdings, Inc..
The ASI Certification program, developed through an extensive and rigorous multi-stakeholder consultation process, is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. Launched in May 2022, the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) emerged after a meticulous multi-year revision process.
It outlines 11 principles and 62 criteria across three sustainability pillars—Environment, Social, and Governance. The certification addresses critical sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain, including biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples' rights, circularity, and greenhouse gas emissions.
