Constantia Flexibles has been awarded ASI Chain of Custody Standard Certification for its rolling and packaging conversion facility Constantia Teich GmbH in Weinburg, Austria. The news came after Aluminium Stewardship Initiative announced about it today, March 17, 2020.

Earlier in 2018, the plant had obtained ASI Performance Standard Certification. The Constantia Flexibles Group supplies its products to numerous multinational corporations and local market leaders in the food, pet food, pharmaceuticals, and beverage industries.
The ASI Certification program is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI CoC Standard sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for material that is produced and processed through the value chain into diverse downstream sectors.
Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI said: “Our congratulations go to Constantia Flexibles for the ASI Chain of Custody certification of their Constantia Teich subsidiary plant. With appropriate upstream sourcing in place, the company will be able to offer their customers on-product labels on the plant’s outputs. The one billion square meters of annual foil production from this facility gives a significant boost to the potential availability of responsibly produced ASI-certified packaging material for downstream sectors.”
Thomas Greigeritsch, Vice President Group Sustainability said “As one of the founding members of the ASI, who has accompanied the development of these standards since the very beginning, we are especially proud to have achieved ASI Chain of Custody certification. Receiving this recognition from ASI is a further confirmation of our efforts in the area of responsible sourcing and we are committed to continue on this path together with our suppliers and customers.”
