
According to the Shanghai Metals Market, social inventories of primary aluminium ingots in China have shrunk by 24,000 tonnes this week ending on Thursday, September 17. The inventories have dwindled across eight major consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, to stand at 740,000 tonnes, as of September 17.
Primary aluminium inventories have declined this week after two consecutive weeks of increase. On last Thursday, September 10, primary aluminium inventories grew by 3,000 tonnes week-on-week to come in at 764,000 tonnes.

Primary aluminium inventories downfall today has touched upon Nanhai, Gongyi, Tianjin, Hangzhou, and Chongqing. In Nanhai and Gongyi, the inventories have decreased by 14,000 tonnes and 12,000 tonnes, respectively, to stand at 159,000 tonnes and 75,000 tonnes. In Tianjin, the inventories have dwindled by 2,000 tonnes to 49,000 tonnes, while that in Hangzhou and Chongqing have inched down by 1,000 tonnes to come in at 75,000 tonnes and 2,000 tonnes, respectively.
In other cities like Wuxi, Shanghai, and Linyi, the inventories have increased by 4,000 tonnes and 1,000 tonnes, respectively, to come in at 253,000 tonnes, 121,000 tonnes, and 6,000 tonnes.
