China’s average alumina spot price drops by RMB4/t following back-to-back restraints; A00 aluminium ingot price down by RMB10/t

The Shanghai Metals Market data shows that the average spot price of alumina has dropped by RMB 4 per tonne after remaining restrained for the last ten days. On Friday, July 24, the alumina price has come in at RMB 2,491 per tonne compared to RMB 2,495 per tonne during July 13-23, found SMM.

In the east and north, the average alumina price has declined by RMB 10 per tonne to stand respectively at RMB 2,465 per tonne and RMB 2,490 per tonne, while that in the central and south has continued to hover at RMB 2,500 per tonne and RMB 2,520 per tonne, respectively.

The prices of imported alumina and Australian alumina FOB have also not recorded any changes today from RMB 2,450 per tonne and US$ 281 per tonne, according to SMM.

The A00 aluminium ingot price has also recorded a downfall of RMB 10 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,540 per tonne on July 24, learned SMM. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,520 per tonne and RMB 14,560 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 110-150 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot price down by RMB10/t

In Tianjin, the primary aluminium ingot price has decreased by RMB 40 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,530 per tonne, while that in Gongyi and Shenyang has plunged by RMB 35 per tonne to come in at RMB 14,485 per tonne and RMB 14,470 per tonne, respectively. In Hangzhou, the aluminium ingot price is hovering at RMB 14,550 per tonne after declining by RMB 30 per tonne, and in Foshan and Linyi, the price has pegged at RMB 14,490 per tonne and RMB 14,600 per tonne, registering a fall of RMB 20 per tonne. In Chongqing and Wuxi, the A00 aluminium ingot price has dipped by RMB 15 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 14,420 per tonne and RMB 14,550 per tonne, respectively.

However, despite the fall in A00 aluminium ingot price, the prices of aluminium alloys have chosen to remain muted. Therefore, the aluminium alloys (ADC12) price is still standing at RMB 13,950 per tonne, and the prices of aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloy (A380) are hovering at RMB 15,150 per tonne and RMB 14,850 per tonne, respectively.
