
On Thursday, September 7, China’s 6063 aluminium billet inventories across five major consumption areas totalled 81,800 tonnes, registering a week-on-week hike of 12,200 tonnes or 17.53 per cent from 69,600 tonnes, found the Shanghai Metals Market data. From Monday, September 4, the inventories on Thursday grew by only 1,800 tonnes.
Foshan continued to be the main contributor to the billet inventories growth this week, followed by Huzhou and Wuxi. To know the current status of aluminium billet inventories in more detail, refer to the chart below:

In Foshan, aluminium billet inventories increased by 4,100 tonnes week-on-week but dropped by 2,600 tonnes from Monday to stand at 45,200 tonnes, followed by the gain in Huzhou by 4,000 tonnes from a week ago and 2,000 tonnes from Monday to settle at 12,000 tonnes, according to SMM.
In Wuxi and Changzhou, aluminium billet inventories escalated by 3,100 tonnes and 1,000 tonnes W-o-W to close the week at 11,600 tonnes and 5,000 tonnes, respectively. From Monday, September 4, aluminium billet inventories in Wuxi grew by 1,900 tonnes, but that in Changzhou dipped by 500 tonnes, showed SMM.
In Nanchang, aluminium billet inventories continued to remain restrained at 8,000 tonnes.
