
China's inventory of primary aluminium across eight major markets again continued to drop on higher downstream consumption due to falling prices. According to Shanghai Metals Market, inventories of primary aluminium, including SHFE warrants, fell 33,000 tonnes over the week to stand at 1.8 million tonnes as of Thursday July 12.
In Wuxi and Jiangsu, the inventory dropped from 772,000 tonnes, as of July 9, to 767,000 tonnes on July 12; in Nanhai and Guangdong, the inventory dropped from 238,000 tonnes, to 228,000 tonnes; in Gongyi and Henan, the inventory stood at 179,000 tonnes on July 12.
{alcircleadd}Other major Chinese cities like Shanghai, Hangzhou and Zhejiang and Linyi and Shandong also registered a little drop in inventories on July 12.

In another update from SMM, the average A00 aluminium ingot price increased RMB 150 per tonne to RMB 13980 per tonne on Thursday, July 12, 2018, from RMB 13830 per tonne on July 11, 2018. The prices are expected to range between RMB 13960 per tonne and RMB 14000 per tonne.

In the east, the aluminium ingot price rose RMB 150 per tonne to stand at RMB 13980 per tonne on Thursday, July 12 , compared to RMB 13830 per tonne on July 11. In the south and north, the inventory increased RMB 135 per tonne and RMB 100 per tonne to stand at RMB 14050 per tonne and RMB 13980 per tonne, respectively.
