
According to the latest export-import data released by China’s General Administration of Customs, the total aluminium semis export of the country grew 40.29 per cent year-over-year to reach 106,025 million tonnes (mt) in August 2016. During January-August period, the same surged 12.6 per cent YoY to total at 795,826mt. This includes aluminium bar, rod, and profile.
Export volumes (mt) of other downstream aluminium products are tabulated below:
China’s total export of aluminium alloys shrunk marginally by 0.4 per cent over the same period previous year to stand at 43,556 mt in August. During the first eight months period under review, the volume slid 5.7 per cent YoY to stand at 326,607mt.

The total shipment volume of aluminium scrap from China to international destinations also declined significantly during the periods under review. In August, it slid 51 per cent YoY and during January to August period it stood at 380mt, down 45.6 per cent from the corresponding period previous year.
