Yunnan Aluminium Corporation has added three more national-level green factory recognitions to its resume. The accomplishment of this honour is a complete examination of the energy utilisation efficiency, energy resource utilisation, and product energy consumption level of the company's connected industries. It also recognises Yunnan Aluminium's overall strength in technical innovation, smart production, and other businesses.

As per the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, three companies, Yunnan YunLv Yongxin Aluminium, Yunlv Zexin, and Yunlv Haixin, have been selected for the 2023 Green Manufacturing List. Currently, the firm has established five green factories at the national level, which include Yunnan Aluminum Corporation and Yunnan Aluminum Yixin. The company is now committed to pursuing environmentally friendly and sustainable growth.

Yunnan Aluminium and its work towards sustainability

Yunnan Aluminium Corporation has established a complete industrial chain incorporating "bauxite alumina carbon products electrolytic aluminium processing" in the context of the "dual carbon" period. It has developed a demonstration model for decreasing production sources, total utilisation value, and green terminal disposal, efficiently exerting overall synergy, lowering carbon emissions in intermediate links, and boosting green and low-carbon growth.

Fully utilise clean "green electricity" to make green aluminium, construct Yunnan Province's first large-scale distributed photovoltaic prototype demonstration project, and continually expand the "green content" of industrial growth. At the same time, we will integrate the construction of ecological civilisation with the construction of green factories, adhering to the development policy of "setting an example of environmental protection, building a garden factory, becoming civilised employees, and creating a first-class enterprise."

The total area of the Yunnan Aluminium Corporation's production premises is about 1.68 million square metres, with a vegetation coverage rate of over 90 per cent. The reclamation rate of Yunnan Aluminium Wenshan Mine, a subsidiary wholly owned by Yunnan Aluminium Corporation, has achieved a 100 per cent reclamation rate. Yunnan Aluminium and its seven connected firms have become the first domestic aluminium company to get ASI certification successfully for the whole industrial chain. Its primary products have achieved an internationally leading carbon footprint level, making it a role model for the sector in using green power and new energy.

About the National Green Factory programme

The National Green Factory is a programme initiated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to enforce the "14th Five Year Plan" for industrial green development. Its primary objective is to facilitate the widespread adoption of green manufacturing practices and assist the industrial sector in reaching its carbon peak and carbon neutrality targets.

The objective is to assist and facilitate businesses in transitioning towards land intensification, environmentally safe treatment of raw materials, purification of production processes, utilisation of waste resources, and adoption of low-carbon energy practices.
