CANPACK collaborated with Royal Swinkels to introduce the latest 2025 8.6 Tattoo Limited Edition can design. The launch continues a long-running tradition of turning the 8.6 Original 50cl beverage can into a canvas for bold artistic expression.

The project brings together the distinctive spirit of the 8.6 brand and CANPACK’s award-winning Quadromix printing technology. The result is a limited-edition can that is visually bold, technically precise and scalable for high-volume production. It also underlines how packaging innovation is increasingly used as a storytelling tool in the beverage sector.

Since 2016, the 8.6 Tattoo Limited Edition series has turned the 8.6 Original 50cl can into a creative canvas. Each annual release features four different designs produced in a single production run, enabled by CANPACK’s Quadromix technology. This approach allows variation without compromising efficiency, a key advantage for global brands.
For 2025, renowned tattoo artist Dodie created four original illustrations reflecting the expressive character of 8.6 Original. CANPACK’s premium Matt finish enhances visual depth and ensures every detail resonates on-shelf. The design reinforces the brand’s bold identity, creating a product that stands out in a crowded beer segment.
“The execution is truly a reflection of the collaboration between Royal Swinkels and CANPACK, with passion, creativity and precision technology bringing the whole thing to life in a vibrant and distinctive package,” said Afel Amberber, Global Brand Manager at Royal Swinkels.

CANPACK’s role extends well beyond printing
Beyond printing, CANPACK ensures that every aspect of the artwork is faithfully transferred onto the can. Quadromix supports design diversity at scale, while advanced finishes deliver an impactful and authentic consumer experience.
The 8.6 Tattoo Limited Edition has won Metal Pack of the Year: High Volume Food & Beverage at the UK Packaging Awards 2025 and received recognition at The World Beverage Innovation Awards 2021, reflecting the commercial and creative success of the collaboration.
“Our long-standing relationship with Royal Swinkels is built on mutual trust and ambition. While the designs are Swinkels’ creation, our role is to make them shine, using innovative technologies like Quadromix to turn bold ideas into award-winning packaging,” said Paweł Kawa, Graphics Innovation Manager, CANPACK.
As a team, Royal Swinkels and CANPACK are advancing metal packaging as an element of storytelling that enhances brand identity through artistry and workmanship.
Like the limited editions produced over the past nine years, the 2025 8.6 Tattoo Limited Edition exemplifies what can be accomplished by open collaboration, technological innovation and a shared commitment to enduring concepts.
