Cable Demand for Aluminum May Around 140-200 Thousand Tons

Apart from copper aluminum is the most widely used material in Cable Industry. In the process of national economy development, huge demand for power cable is a must for industrialization and urbanization. Owing to lack of historical data just on a rough calculation for the demand of aluminum.
During the 12th Five-year Plan period the investment in power grid will increase 70% compared with the former 5 years and the growth rate will keep at 6%-7% in next 5 years. Since UHV cable need more aluminum, electric wire/cable annual increment for aluminum may about 140-200 thousand tons from 2011 to 2015.
