Alcomet released its third sustainability report recently, mentioning all its green initiatives around the board. The new report encompasses the operations of 2021 and 2022, which upholds the aluminium extrusion company's prevailing standards of securing environmental, social and governance (ESG) values.

Alcomet AD is a Bulgarian manufacturer of rolled and extruded aluminium products, operating for more than 40 years in the heavy metal industry. The company at this moment provides an extensive range of aluminium foils, sheets, strips and profiles, maintaining a total turnover of more than €266 million.
The sustainability report spoke of the following points:
Aluminium is a 100% recyclable non-ferrous metal, and it can retain its original properties even after rigorous rounds of transformation. Aluminium can form a circular economy, lessening the detrimental effects of carbon on our ecosystem. Recycling aluminium consumes 95% less energy than the production of the primary metal.
At present, recycling post-consumer aluminium items deflects almost 90 million tonnes of Co2 from the atmosphere and saves almost 100,000 GWh of electrical energy.
