A spokesperson from BAIL stated, "This advancement reflects our core mission, to listen and respond to our consumers and community. The new aluminium can is the result of years of feedback and represents our ongoing promise to elevate the ‘Royal Bhutan’ experience from our FSSC-certified facility in Lingmethang directly to our consumers.”
The initiative upholds and swiftly aligns with Bhutan's national values and the strong environmental commitment. This has been significantly possible because of aluminium's infinite recyclability feature, deploying "Royal Bhutan" at the front line of sustainable packaging. Not only this, but the use of aluminium in the firm's packaging strategy also supports achieving and maintaining a circular economy, which is directly associated with the country's Gross National Happiness principles.
With the introduction of the evolved packaging, the firm makes sure that it is dedicated to sourcing and processing the material from the domestic realm. The firm also sources fresh fruits, like apples, oranges, mangoes, pineapples and passion fruits, which are being sourced directly from local farmers and processed at its internationally certified Lingmethang facility. This method of packaging right at the source not only keeps the products fresh but also boosts the local agricultural value chain.
Building on its strong export presence in India and Bangladesh, the packaging firm is looking for even broader regional expansion, showcasing the quality of Bhutanese products on the global stage. The launch of aluminium cans is a major step forward for the brand, combining modern convenience with a steadfast dedication to local flavours and community support.
