Beiersdorf has completed the expansion of its production centre in Poznań, Poland, following a €300 million investment. The project has doubled the facility’s capacity and generated over 200 new jobs, positioning the Poznań site as one of the most strategic and advanced manufacturing hubs within the DAX Group’s global production network. The addition of six advanced, fully automated production lines and a cutting-edge microbiology laboratory boosts the site’s annual production capacity to 500 million units.
Supporting Beiersdorf’s net-zero emission goal
This initiative is also expected to support Beiersdorf’s wider sustainability strategy, which includes increasing the use of recycled aluminium in products like NIVEA and other packaging formats. A key step toward Beiersdorf’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2045 is the complete decarbonisation of its production sites by 2030.
In Europe, this target was met ahead of schedule in 2025 through the transition from natural gas to biogas. As a result, the company’s facilities in Germany, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland are now operating as climate-neutral production sites.
With nearly a century of production history in Poznań, Beiersdorf’s site now supplies products from brands such as NIVEA, Eucerin, Atrix, Hidrofugal, and Florena as well as the regional Bambino brand to over 100 international markets. The expansion project launched in 2020 and completed in 2025 without disrupting ongoing operations, marks a major milestone.
As part of this upgrade, the site now produces aerosol cans using recycled aluminium. This development aligns with Beiersdorf’s broader strategy to strengthen its global manufacturing footprint while advancing its sustainability goals.“This significant investment fully underscores Beiersdorf’s growth ambitions by reinforcing our global manufacturing network and ensuring a reliable, resilient supply in a dynamic market environment,” said Vincent Warnery, CEO.
Boosting the site’s annual production capacity
Beiersdorf is strategically investing in its global production network to meet the evolving demands of its core markets and future-proof its supply chain. In Poznań, the company is expanding its capacity to serve the European market better, enhance operational agility, and reinforce regional delivery strength. The site was selected for its robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and stable economic environment.
“The capacity expansion is more than an operational milestone built on cutting-edge manufacturing. It is a long-term investment in the future of skin care and in our local partnerships and the community of Poznań. It also demonstrates our clear commitment to sustainability,” added Vincent Warnery.
Beiersdorf continues to invest in sustainable technologies across its global operations. In 2024, heat pumps were installed at the company’s sites in Hamburg and Argentona, Spain, while electric steam generators are currently being built in Bangkok, Thailand, and Malang, Indonesia. Photovoltaic systems have been installed at eight of the company’s 14 production centres, with a new 4,600 kW solar plant under construction in Leipzig marking the Group’s fourth installation of this scale.
The Poznań facility is also deeply committed to environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Alongside initiatives focused on water and energy conservation, waste reduction, and reforestation, employees dedicated more than 3,800 volunteer hours in 2024 as part of the global “Care Beyond Skin Day.”
