The bauxite importation of Ukraine during January-March 2021 has shown a significant rise by 6%, when compared to the same period the previous year, to 1.303 million tonnes.
As the data statistics released by the Ukrainian State Customs Service, it states that during this phase, bauxite imports in monetary terms increased by 11.8%, to $59.853 million.
The imports were carried out majorly from Guinea with 56.17% of supplies in monetary terms, 25.85% from Brazil and 17.12% from Ghana.
In January-March 2021, Ukraine re-exported 71 tonnes of bauxite to Poland and Germany.
Mykolaiv Alumina Refinery LLC is the primary importer of bauxite into Ukraine.
