Ball Corporation, a top player in the global aluminium packaging scene, has teamed up with Brazilian brands Soffie and Aeroflex to roll out the world's very first aluminium aerosol cans that have received certification from the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI).
The ASI certification ensures that the aluminium used meets strict environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards throughout the entire value chain, from extraction all the way to the final product. A packaging with an ASI seal provides a clear sign that the products are made with responsibly sourced materials.
Ball framed the launch as something beyond just a typical product rollout by positioning it as a meaningful initiative aimed at making sustainability easier for retail customers. The goal is to provide certified packaging that stands out and is easy to scale on store shelves.
Aeroflex's leadership team stressed that this outcome is in perfect harmony with the company's core values and long-term vision. They pointed out that partnering with Ball has allowed them to blend innovation with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility for their customers.
Victoria Marletta, VP Commercial, Personal and Home Care, Ball Corporation, stated, "These aerosol cans demonstrate how we can work with customers to bring more sustainable packaging options to the market."
Soffie's ASI-certified deodorants, including the Soffie RUN Live and Soffie RUN Ultra lines, are among the first in the world to feature in an aerosol can. Designed specifically for runners and athletes, the packaging combines practical functionality with eye-catching design elements that appeal to sports lovers.

Clynton Cortez, Founder of Soffie, commented, "We are proud to be the first brand to offer ASI-certified aerosol packaging. Ball has supported us in ensuring our products meet both performance and environmental standards."
Aeroflex, known for its deodorants, hair sprays, dry shampoos and body sprays, has rolled out ASI-certified aerosol cans. This move highlights the company's dedication to providing eco-friendly products while still maintaining a top-notch design quality.
Owing to this, Geisa Miksza, Executive Director of Aeroflex, said, "This launch aligns with our commitment to responsible packaging. Working with Ball has allowed us to introduce sustainable options to our customers in a practical and reliable way."
The creation of these cans was a team effort that brought together Ball's commercial, sustainability, supply chain and research and development departments. They worked hand in hand to ensure they used certified aluminium and applied the ASI logo correctly.
