Average alumina spot price in China slips by RMB 41/t to close in at RMB 2,860/t; A00 aluminium ingot price descends by RMB 70/t

On Thursday, December 16, the average alumina spot price has slumped by RMB 41 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,860 per tonne, says Shanghai Metals Market.

To begin with, in Henan and Shanxi, the average alumina spot price has slipped by RMB 50 per tonne to peg at RMB 2,850 per tonne for both provinces, respectively. In Shandong, the price has gone down by RMB 25 per tonne to close in at RMB 2,975 per tonne. In provinces like Guizhou and Guangxi the price has remained restrained to stand at RMB 2,950 per tonne and RMB 2,800 per tonne. In Lianyungang and Bayuquan also the price has stayed unchanged and settled at RMB 3,000 per tonne and RMB 3,050 per tonne, for the same day.

The Australian alumina FOB price has remained the same to stand in at RMB 345 per tonne.

According to SMM, the price of A00 aluminium ingot has gone down by RMB 70 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,030 per tonne. The average price for the same is expected to range between RMB 19,010 per tonne and RMB 19,050 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 80-40 per tonne, for the same day.

In Gongyi and Linyi, the A00 aluminium ingot price has decreased by RMB 80 per tonne to close in at RMB 19,100 per tonne and RMB 19,120 per tonne. In Wuxi and Hangzhou also the price has totalled at RMB 19,030 per tonne and RMB 19,035 per tonne. The price for the same has shifted down by RMB 60 per tonne, respectively. In Foshan, the price has slipped by RMB 50 per tonne to close in at RMB 19,110 per tonne. On the other hand in provinces like Chongqing and Shenyang, the price has descended by RMB 40 per tonne and RMB 50 per tonne. The price for the same has stood at RMB 19,100 per tonne and RMB 19,010 per tonne. In Tianjin, the price has decreased by RMB 70 per tonne to come in at RMB 19,020 per tonne.

The aluminium alloy price (ADC12), (A380) and (A356) has remained unchanged to close in at RMB 20,200 per tonne, RMB 21,400 per tonne and RMB 21,050 per tonne. The average price for (ADC12) is expected to stand between RMB 21,100 per tonne and RMB 20,300 per tonne.

The average price for (A380) is expected to range between RMB 21,300 per tonne and RMB 21,500 per tonne. The average price for (A356) is expected to orbit between RMB 21,000 per tonne and RMB 21,100 per tonne.
