According to a report on March 13, CRN floated the new 72-metre superyacht CRN 139, hosting a private ceremony in Ancona, Italy. The fully-custom steel and aluminium motor superyacht features dynamic lines that exude nothing but elegance. The 1270-tonne vessel was started being constructed in 2018 at the Ferretti Group superyacht yard shipyard. A week before the launch, it was sent from the construction shed to the slipway using motorised hydraulic lift trucks in preparation for launch. Alumina production in Africa & Asia (ex-China) in the first two months of 2023 amounted to 2.159 million tonnes, reflecting a year-on-year drop of 2.92 per cent from 2.224 million tonnes, found the International Aluminium Institute (IAI). In February 2023, Africa & Asia’s (ex-China) alumina output was 1.04 million tonnes, down by 7.06 per cent from 1.119 million tonnes a month ago. According to a report on March 29, Goyal Aluminiums has planned to invest INR 200 crore into building an electric vehicle (EV) plant in Uttar Pradesh for manufacturing electric, mild-speed range scooters for the Indian two-wheeler industry. French composite aluminium façade supplier C2F has reportedly unveiled a new PV façade at the recent BePositive trade show in Lyon, France. China’s prebaked anode exports in Jan-Feb'23 rise to 321,300 tonnes, with Shandong accounting for 77%
According to China Customs data, China exported 321,300 tonnes of the prebaked anode during January-February 2023. That reflected a year-on-year increase of 1.22 per cent. In January, China exported 189,900 tonnes, which decreased by 30.81 per cent to 131,400 tonnes the following month. Shandong ranked the highest among the Chinese provinces that exported prebaked anode in January and February, supplying 248,000 tonnes in two months. According to the Shanghai Metals Market, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, and Pakistan were the five top suppliers of unwrought aluminium alloy to China during January-February 2023. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group reported enthusiastic market participation in its aluminium futures contract at the beginning of 2023, with a record average daily volume of 3,161 contracts in February - 300 per cent more than the previous year.
