According to China Customs data, China exported 321,300 tonnes of the prebaked anode during January-February 2023. That reflected a year-on-year increase of 1.22 per cent. In January, China exported 189,900 tonnes, which decreased by 30.81 per cent to 131,400 tonnes the following month.
Shandong ranked the highest among the Chinese provinces that exported prebaked anode in January and February, supplying 248,000 tonnes in two months. That accounted for 77 per cent of China’s total prebaked anode exports, and grew by 5.89 per cent year-on-year.
Coming to the top destinations of China’s exports in the first two months of 2023, Malaysia, Russia and Canada were the top three. Exports to Malaysia were about 97,500 tonnes, accounting for 30 per cent of China’s total exports and up by 32.6 per cent year-on-year.
To Russia, China exported 51,600 tonnes, which was up by 47.8 per cent from a year ago, accounting for 16 per cent of the total exports. Exports to Canada were 43,800 tonnes, down by 27.50 per cent Y-o-Y, accounting for 14 per cent of China’s total prebaked anode exports.
