Australia 2011-12 Alumina exports expected up

The value of commodities exports from Australia will climb 21% in the coming financial year to A$214.76 billion as increased production meets higher prices despite fears for the global economic outlook, the country's Bureau of Resource and Energy Economics, or BREE, reported Tuesday.
Export volumes of alumina will climb 3.7% to 16.8 million tons, BREE said.
The value of alumina will climb 22% to A$6.26 billion, the bureau said.
