On Tuesday, January 18, Aluminium Stewardship Initiative has announced that it successfully certified ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB against the Performance Standard Certification for the development and manufacture of customised aluminium extrusions and components at Aseda, Sweden plant. The products developed at the plant are destined for downstream sectors in industries like transport, electronics, and construction.
ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB produces extrusion of aluminium profiles at 4 production lines, anodizes for surface treatment, and further processes aluminium extrusions in the form of cutting, processing, bending, and stamping.
Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI, said: “We warmly congratulate ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB on achieving ASI Performance Standard Certification. Aluminium extrusions offer important benefits compared to other metals, including conductivity of heat and electricity, high corrosion resistance, ease of maintenance and durability, strength and ductility. ProfilGruppen Extrusions’ downstream customers have the assurance through the Performance Standard Certification that the company produces its extrusions in a responsible manner.”
ProfilGruppen’s CEO, Fredrik Zöögling, said: “From the start, ProfilGruppen has striven to offer a circular alternative and has always been a responsible company with very high ambitions regarding sustainability towards the environment, but also individuals and society as a whole. We know we have a sustainable business, but it is very satisfying to have this verified by a third party with the certification by ASI. We will now continue our process of continuous improvement and reach for the next level.”
The independent, third-party audit of the ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB Åseda plant was carried out by DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd.
