Gränges has successfully acquired ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) and Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard V1 (2017) certifications against its aluminium rolling and sheet facilities across the USA, like in Tennessee, Arkansas, Huntington, Newport and Salisbury, North Carolina, along with the corporate headquarters in Franklin (TN). The three production sites can yield almost 240 thousand tonnes of aluminium rolled or sheet items.
Gränges is an international brand producing rolled aluminium products with operations all around the USA; it also has facilities in Sweden and China. The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) declared today that Gränges Americas Inc. has received dual ASI certifications for the design and manufacture of rolled strips or sheets of aluminium at all its American outlets.
The rolled aluminium products manufactured by Gränges are utilised in making HVAC systems, transformers, automobile parts, speciality or food packages, auto heat shields, convertor foils and many other essential products meeting the demand of modern civilisation.
As early as 2019, 2021, and at the beginning of 2022, the company had won ASI Performance Standard Certification and Chain of Custody Certification for its production spaces in Shanghai-China and Finspang-Sweden.
The third-party, non-partial audit for Gränges Americas Inc. was conducted by DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd, one of the most renowned classification societies and financial advisors in Europe.
The Chief Executive Officer at ASI, Fiona Solomon, exclaimed: “We congratulate Gränges Americas on achieving dual ASI Certification for its US-based operations in Huntingdon, Newport and Salisbury, and the related corporate functions at its US Headquarters. As attention to the use of plastics increases, the circularity potential of aluminium in rolled products is critical. With appropriate upstream sourcing in place, Gränges’ dual ASI Certification at these rolling operations enables it to offer its downstream customers the possibility to source responsibly produced aluminium products.”
The President of Gränges Americas, Patrick Lawlor, talked about the achievement with pride: “Achieving ASI certification has been a key strategic focus for us to become a sustainability leader within the aluminium industry. The certification strengthens our competitive position within the markets we serve and underpins our drive towards improving sustainability throughout the value chain.”
