Ardagh Metal Packaging (AMP), the international supplier of sustainable and recyclable aluminium and glass packaging solutions for brand owners worldwide, will make a social effort to improve the working conditions and income of about 30 collectors in the city of Alagoinhas. The initiative will be carried out on March 25 at the Cooperative of Collectors and Recyclers of Alagoinhas through a partnership with the NGO Pimp My Carroça, founded by artist Mundano.

"This pioneering project is part of our goal of contributing to the social and economic impact of recycling, valuing the work of cooperatives and their collectors. With this, we seek to promote empowerment and well-being to the local community, with the reaffirmation of the commitment to sustainability in all regions where we operate", explained AMP's Sustainability director, Elisangela Matos.
There will be a special waggon restoration workshop, talks on environmental issues and the circular economy, and various leisure, health, and wellbeing-related events. In practice, the collectors will gather in the Cooperative's outdoor area while graffiti painters, motivated by the requests of recycling experts, turn the carts into art pieces.
Together, they will decide on the composition of the paintings, sketches, and statements. Several attractions happen simultaneously as the waggon grows safer, more useful, more individualized, and more beautiful. Additionally, collectors should be provided with safety gear that includes materials like gloves, a raincoat, a t-shirt with reflective tape, and a cap to aid with daily street collecting and promote the usage of PPE.
