The American Bubble, a Los Angeles-based bubble manufacturer is the first patent-pending, eco-friendly, long-lasting bubble system created in the United States. The firm introduced its Bubble Tree product in an aluminium bottle that reflected the brand's sustainability and environmental safety ideals.
The package was developed in collaboration with Trivium, a metal packaging provider, and was recently honoured with a World Packaging Organization WorldStar Award. According to Chas Aylsworth, Business Development Manager at Trivium Packaging, the bubble composition and the aluminium bottles were evaluated for long-term compatibility.
“We knew the bubble market very well and saw that it was only saturated with plastic bottles that aren’t even 100% recyclable,” said Susan Wasserman, founder and President of American Bubble.
The Bubble Tree Original Multi-Packs system includes two metal bubble bottles that can be refilled, reused, and recycled, as well as two eco-friendly bubble solutions. The refill system is composed of corrugated cardboard, while the cap and wand are constructed of recycled plastic by American Bubble.
“After seeing how some countries—especially the Maldives—have decided to eliminate one time-use plastic bottles, we researched a better alternative. It turned out to be aluminum, not only for its highly recyclable material, but also because of the quality,” added Wasserman.
American Bubble wanted to ensure sure the bottles could be carried by children even when they were wet, so Trivium designed a container with an ergonomic depression at the top. Trivium applies a special coating on top of the indentation and graphics to help prevent the bottles from becoming slippery when wet. Bubble Tree claims to be the first firm to design an aluminium bubble bottle with a sustainable refill mechanism that seeks to eliminate single-use plastic.
