
North America’s primary aluminium production came in at 338,000 tonnes in March (31days), indicating a decrease of 1.17% from 342,000 tonnes in March 2020, according to the latest data showed by the International Aluminium Institute (IAI). On a monthly basis, the output increased by 9.74% from 308,000 tonnes in February (28 days).

The primary aluminium output remained unchanged at 986,000 tonnes in the first three months of 2021.
In South America, primary aluminium production stood 7.69% lower year-on-year in March. The output was 98,000 tonnes last month. On a month-on-month comparison, aluminium production marked a hike of 13.95% from 86,000 tonnes in February.
Primary aluminium production in South America in January-March failed to register a growth. The output remained muted at 279,000 tonnes in the first three months of 2021.
