
After lowering for over two months ranging between RMB 2,624 per tonne and RMB 2,425 per tonne, the average spot price of alumina has recorded a slight rise of RMB 2 per tonne to come in at RMB 2,427 per tonne on December 24, according to Shanghai Metals Market. In the north China, the price has increased by RMB 5 per tonne to RMB 2,425 per tonne, while that in the east and central, and south, the price has remained restrained at RMB 2,420 per tonne and RMB 2,450 per tonne, and RMB 2,520 per tonne, respectively.

The imported alumina price and the Australian alumina FOB price have also remained unchanged at RMB 2,500 per tonne and US$ 279 per tonne, respectively.
The A00 aluminium ingot price has also registered a growth today, on December 24, of RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 14,480 per tonne, after a drop on December 23 from RMB 14,450 per tonne to RMB 14,440 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,460 per tonne and RMB 14,500 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 130-170 per tonne.

However, the growth in A00 aluminium ingot price today has not touched upon all the major markets in China, such as in Chongqing, where the price has remained unchanged at RMB 14,480 per tonne. In Linyi and Gongyi, the price has dipped by RMB 60 per tonne to RMB 14,370 per tonne and RMB 14,310 per tonne.
In other cities like Foshan, Wuxi, and Hangzhou, the ingot price has grown by RMB 60 per tonne, RMB 55 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 14,490 per tonne and RMB 14,480 per tonne, respectively. In Tianjin and Shenyang, the price has increased by RMB 30 per tonne and RMB 5 per tonne to RMB 14,460 per tonne and RMB 14,395 per tonne.
